25th of June - 7th day of treating .....

Child at ChengaIt was a full house today at Chenga, more and more people are coming each day as the word spreads through the community. Many of the patients that have been to see the students previously are returning frequently, in turn are improving in leaps and bounds. There are of course the children that come and go through the day peering through the windows curious about the activities inside their school. Some of the children are even pretending to be Chiropractors, mimicking the students actions. The children are also practing being little Aussie's by saying "G' day Mate" in perfect unison - accent and all!

Last week at Chenga, an elderly gentleman presented with approx 40% mobility when walking and a severe Lumbar Kyphosis (pictured below). Since his first visit on 18.06.2008, he is now walking with only 10% - 15% decreased mobility and is consistently beaming smiles!

Update 26.06.2008 - This patient returned the next day complaining of muscle pain. He conveyed that after the previous days treatment he felt so good that he was able to perform many physical tasks that he previously had been unable to do, he now had muscle pain from over activity. He is now standing straight, walking without a cane and has been advised to slow down a tad.

A lady came in to the clinic at Jesuit Ashram last week. She was gaunt, frail, unable to stand aided (her husband had to carry her in), loss of appetite and complained of constant pain in her legs. She was taking pain medication with no benefit. After three treatments she is now able to walk aided and is now using a zimmer frame and increasing her muscle strength after 3 months of incapacitation.
