19th of June - 2nd day of treating Simon Street Treating at Jesuit Ashram

After the first days "Baptism of Fire", everyone settled in to their roles well. One of the clinics we are treating at is the Jesuit Ashram, a private funded hospice. The hospice has 4 divisions HIV, TB, Leprosy & General Admissions. It is one of the cleanest, most welcoming facilities where no-one is turned away. We were given the opportunity to not only help the patients but also some of the very hard working staff - all were very grateful and showed enormous appreciation (a very humbling experience).

One patient, 80 yo plus (as few people seem to know their actual age) came in for a treatment presenting many issues including second toe sitting over the big toe at a 45°. He could manually move it back to normal position - but this involved a great deal of pain. After treatment his toe was able to sit in a normal position without pain. The next step is to continue working on him so that his toe can stay in the correct position when baring weight.

All Students are "buzzing", discussion over all meals are about patients. The Dr's have been amazing, helping the Students with not only general adjusting but philosophy and exposing them to a world of wonderful Chiropractic techniques. Dr's also seem to be enjoying swapping skills and techniques.
